I want to display a message for patrons on the ILLiad web page.

Symptom

• You want to notify your Patrons that the system will be down for a period of time by displaying a message on the website
• You want to let ILLiad users know about an upcoming feature or event.

Resolution

Here are a couple of suggestions on how you can notify your patrons about a down system coming up in the near future:

1. You can follow the documentation to post a Web Alert for the patrons so that after they log on, they will see on the top right of the ILLiad Main Menu your Web Alert.  Please see the Web Alerts documentation.
2. In addition, you could update your logon.html and logon2.html Web pages to put some wording on the page so that it is easy to see for your patrons when they log on letting them know the system will be down.
