Can we have two Web Servers pointing to the same Database?
Applies to
- ILLiad
Answer
There could be a problem. The main thing you have to do is make sure that only one Web Servers had the ILLiad Services enabled. The other one has to have them disabled. The problem is if both of them do, then requests get directed to one or both of the servers causing issues with the processing of ILLiad. In general, I would say no, you should only have one set up to access the SQL Server. Otherwise, you will have issues. We usually have this problem when someone sets up a backup server and makes it live. They are having their patrons get their files from the production server, and even though articles are delivered, they are not updated correctly.
