How do we get our records into WorldCat?

Applies to
  • Connexion client
  • WorldShare Record Manager
  • WorldShare Collection Manager
  • Digital Collection Gateway
Answer

There are various ways to get records into WorldCat. You can catalog the records using Connexion client or WorldShare Record Manager. If the records are already cataloged,  you can use WorldShare Collection Manager to do a bibliographic data sync collection and send all the records at once.

If your records are held inside an OAI-PMH compliant digital repository, you can use OCLC's free Digital Collection Gateway to harvest the metadata into WorldCat.

Additional information

If you need assistance with cataloging, OCLC offers contract cataloging. OCLC also has a Metadata Quality Control team that is able to assist you with any cataloging questions you may have. They can be contacted at: askqc@oclc.org.
