New features and enhancements
Display of LHR call number subfields
You can now view additional call number subfield information from the shelving designation and copy number subfields of the 852 field of your local holdings records (LHRs). Shelving designation and copy number subfield information from the 852 field displays:
- In the Call Number column of the Local Holdings Records table in the MARC 21 editor
- In the information icon panel of the Local Holdings Records table
- In the Call Number column in the LHR search results
Note: Barcode information has been moved to a separate Barcode(s) column in the LHR search results.
The display of additional call number subfield information is a result of user feedback.
Remove hidden HTML formatting when pasting from another source
Hidden HTML formatting is removed when pasting text into a field in a Bibliographic, LHR, LBD or Authority record. This also applies to Constant data for bibliographic and local holdings records.
Prior to the June 9th Record Manager release, users pasting text into a field may experience the retention of original source formatting:
After Record Manager’s June 9th release, this source formatting is removed when users paste text into a field:
Additionally, when validation finds an unassigned Unicode position in a field, the MARC 21 editor highlights the position of the bad character so that users can easily remove the character:
After the first character is removed, the next character that fails validation is highlighted when the record is validated again:
Bug fixes
Right to left subfield orientation is now working in non-Latin fields
Subfields with scripts that read from right to left now are displaying correctly in the MARC record editors:
Previously, the subfields were presented from left to right.
Field 035 in exported records includes all control numbers
When you export a bibliographic record with multiple OCLC control numbers in field 019, all the control numbers are included in the 035 field which is created by the export process. Now users can track merged records when records are imported into local cataloging applications. Previously, only the first control number from field 019 was added to the 035 field.
OCLC control number example of the record in WorldCat:
After Record Manager’s June 9th release, OCLC control numbers from the 019 are included in the 035 field upon export:
Incorrect "Copy was already modified" message now fixed
When editing more than one LHR for multipart items in a WMS module, users can save. Previously, if you edited an item and then went on to edit another item, you would receive an error message which stated: “Copy was already modified” when saving the record.
Prior to the June 9th Record Manager release, users received an error message:
After Record Manager’s June 9th release, users receive a success message:
