Resolution

MarcEdit is a freely downloadable application (open-source), downloads are available here https://marcedit.reeset.net/downloads

  1. Save the file to your computer.  From the MarcEdit home screen, click on Tools and then change the Functions section to "MARC21XML=>MARC21." clipboard_ec7eaffd2a879d82731ccd4dcaa8506b1.png    clipboard_ed20b0dd53e62fa99eccfee39777950e2.png
  2. Click on the folder icon next to the Input File box.  Select the XML file that you want to convert.                                                clipboard_ef4b6f8515b41815a4a42f23b907ecf43.png   clipboard_ece24826866a12d0b97f766a7178e4862.png
  3. Click on the folder icon next to the Output File.  From the resulting screen, choose where you would like to save this new file.  The file name should reflect ".mrc" in the specified box. Click Save                                                                                                                                                                                                                     clipboard_ef84b0c299cbc2c215c049e43a837873f.png                                                                                                                                                                               clipboard_e09bc3e8ff7fdaab451d5a571f12cde0c.png
  4. Click Execute.  When this has completed, there will be information in the "Results:" section on the Tools screen.  This lets you know that the file has been processed and the new .mrc file should be saved in your specified location.                                                                                                                                                                      clipboard_e1c7f1d2c5f4a291b785d2fe647e4e6be.png     clipboard_e15ff7bfe85fbdc9f54fa5d6671568762.png
  5. You can then close the Tools box and locate your .mrc file.                                                                                        clipboard_ec077c3bb8bcdd90f38add6597df637f8.png
