Alternate Knowledge Base Supplier Holdings (Fundamentals)

Find details about Alternate Knowledge Base Supplier Holdings files

After an upload of a holdings file from an alternate or third-party knowledge base, details about file processing will be available in approximately 1-2 days. 

From the Collection Manager Fundamentals home page, select the KB sync tab. The information included will show the status of the alternate knowledge base supplier holdings feed and the date it was last updated.

Click on the Source link to be taken to the Activity History for the provider.

Search the Activity History 

  1. Navigate to Collection Manager Fundamentals Search.
  2. Choose Activity History as the Data Type.
  3. Select My Institution's History as the Scope.
  4. Leave the search box blank.
  5. Click Search.
  6. At the top of the screen, select the Loads & Feeds filter. From the drop-down menu that appears, choose KB sync file.
  7. Click Filter.
  8. In the search results, click the load or feed of interest to see details about the specific KB sync file.
  9. Click on Title Changes.
    • To download a report, click on the Download Detailed Report button.

After an upload of a holdings file from an alternate or third-party knowledge base, details about file processing will be available in approximately 1-2 days.

Feed History page and reports

Once you open the activity, you will see a screen that shows the collections that were included in the file. Use the Download Reports drop-down to find reports. Three reports are available for download when relevant:

  • Collections Unmapped Report
  • Summary Report
  • Titles Unmapped Report

The reports contain information about the collections and titles that were included in the file upload and summarize the total number of mapped titles.

Title Changes page(s) and detailed reports

From the list of collections, clicking on Title Changes for each of the collections will bring you to a page that shows how titles were changed in that collection.

From each collection's Title Changes page, you can Download a detailed report.

The following columns in the Summary Report contain data about your library’s holdings file.

Column heading Definition
Collection name from source file The name of the collection as listed in the KB sync file.
OCLC collection id mapped The Collection ID for the matched collection in the WorldCat knowledge base. If the OCLCId column is empty and the Size(Loaded) column is 0, no matching collection was found.
KB Supplier collection id A unique identifier for the collection in the KB sync file.
No. of titles in source file The number of titles in the collection as listed in the KB sync file.
No. of titles mapped   The number of titles selected for the matched collection in the WorldCat knowledge base. If the OCLCId column is empty and the Size(Loaded) column is “-“, no matching titles were found.
Has collection been mapped more than once? If set to true, the OCLC KB collection was mapped to several collections from the source file and exists in multiple lines within the Summary report.
Transaction

The action indicating how the collection was mapped. The possibilities are:

  • Select: indicates that we selected a subset of titles within the corresponding collection.
  • Covoverlay: indicates that we selected a subset of titles within the corresponding collection and made some customizations to coverage dates.

The following columns in the Collections Unmapped Report contain data about your library’s holdings file.

Column heading Definition
Registry id from file name Institution's Registry ID of the KB sync file upload.
KB Supplier type KB supplier name for the KB sync file.
Incoming FileName The name of the file of the KB sync file upload.
Collection name from source file The name of the collection as listed in the KB sync file.
Duplicate Collection in source file? If set to true, entries of the collection were duplicated within the KB sync file.
No. of titles in source file The number of titles in the collection as listed in the KB sync file.
No. of titles in source file which were not mapped The number of titles not mapped from the KB sync file upload.

The Titles Unmapped Report contains all titles from collections unmapped in KBART format. For more information about these fields, please see KBART values.
