Why do I get a "Search Label is not valid" error when using parentheses in a command line search in Connexion?

Applies to

  • Connexion

Answer

You must enter a space after the opening parenthesis and a space before the closing parenthesis. The example search below shows the space placement:

kw:canine AND ( au:johnson OR au:stein OR au:burns )

If you do not use the spaces next to the parentheses, you'll get an error saying that the Search Label "is not valid for this database. Please change or simplify your search and try again."
