How to completely uninstall and reinstall Connexion client 3.x

Applies to
  • Connexion client 3.x

Answer

Connexion client 3.x is having file access issues when starting up.  I’ve already uninstalled and reinstalled it but the problem persists.

There are three components to the client and they may all not have uninstalled prior to the reinstall.

Let’s try an uninstall/reinstall of the client by following these steps:
This applies to Connexion client 3.x only.
In Programs & Features:

  1. Uninstall OCLC Connexion client 3.x.
  2. Reboot the computer to clear the Com component from memory.
  3. Uninstall ‘OCLC Connexion ComService’ if it’s present.
  4. Uninstall ‘Microsoft Access database engine 2010 (English)’. ONLY uninstall that version if it’s present. If another version is also listed, leave that version.

After all three components are removed, install the client. All three components will be reinstalled.

Open the client and access your local files.
