About OCLC Connexion

Find out how to access and use the OCLC Connexion window in Connexion client.

Purpose of the About OCLC Connexion window

  • General tab - View the Connexion client version number and other information about the program and about your workstation.
  • Loaded modules tab - View a list of information about all modules loaded on your workstation for running the client.
  • Print the information if needed.
    Or
    Print to a file you can attach to an email.

Access the About OCLC Connexion window

  1. Navigate to Help > About OCLC Connexion client.
  2. View details about Connexion client on the General tab.
  3. Click the Loaded Modules tab to view further information.
  4. Click Print to print all information on both tabs.
  5. (Optional) Click Print to File. The client prints in X:\Program Files\OCLC\Connexion\Program\systeminfo.txt.

 Note: Email this file to help with client problem-solving if needed.

About OCLC Connexion window: Features and buttons

Feature How to use
General tab
List of information The General tab:
  • OCLC Connexion client version number
  • Software copyright information
  • Executable: Location of the file that starts the client
  • O/S: Your operating system
  • System Path: Location of your operating system files
  • Settings Path: Location of the files containing your client settings
  • CRL Version: Version of Microsoft .NET Framework, a component automatically installed with the Connexion client, if not already on your machine. Required for running the client
  • CRL Path: Location of .NET Framework
  • Created: Date and time you installed the Connexion client
  • Memory: Amount of memory used by the client (bytes) 
  • Install Drive: Amount of free space in the drive where you have the client installed (bytes)
  • CPU: Information about your processor
  • Resolution: Your monitor resolution setting as shown in Start/Settings/Control Panel/Display/Settings tab.
Loaded Modules tab
List of modules For each module, the list shows:
  • Type: Type of file (e.g., EXE, DLL)
  • Module: Full file name
  • Name: Name (description) of module
  • Version: Version number of module
  • Path: Full path and file name

 Note: To resize the columns, move the cursor to a border between two column headings. When the cursor becomes a horizontal resize symbol (similar to Column size pointer), hold the left mouse button and drag the border to expand or contract the column to the left.

Close Close the window (or press <Enter>).
Print Print the information on both tabs.
 

 Note: The list in the Loaded Modules tab prints the name, module, version, and path for each module.

Print to File Print the information on both tabs to a file which you can attach to an email.

The client prints the information to a text file called systeminfo.txt in the client program folder. You can find it at: X:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Application Data\OCLC\Connex\systeminfo.txt (where X is the letter of your hard drive)
