Delete a custom metadata property

Learn how to delete a custom metadata property in CONTENTdm (new version).

 Roles: Users with the Administrator or Collection manager role can delete metadata properties.  Refer to CONTENTdm (new version) roles.

You can delete custom metadata properties in CONTENTdm (new version). Managed metadata properties, Transcript, and Alt text properties cannot be deleted.

  1. Select the Delete button (Delete button in CONTENTdm (new version)) under the Actions column in the row for the property to be deleted.
  2. A confirmation screen appears and shows the number of collections currently using the property.
  3. Select Delete to confirm the deletion or Cancel to retain the property.
