Browser message displays Bad Request

Symptom
  • The browser displays the message "Bad Request. Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit".
Applies to
  • CONTENTdm. 6.x
Resolution

As you browse the items in the collection, the browser's keeping track of the records that are being viewed.  This is done to prevent a user from providing feedback multiple times for a single item in the "Ratings" function.  The problem is that the cookie eventually hits a size limit (at roughly 120 items) and you then receive this error.

If you clear the cookie, it should resolve the issue.

Additional Information

This will be corrected with the Responsive Design release.
