Relative dates

Learn how to apply relative dates to reports in Report Designer.

Relative dates allow you to create reports that you can run periodically without altering your query. A relative date is a period of time that is relative to the current date (last week, last month, etc.). 

 Note: Relative date functionality is only available with Report Designer.

Apply a relative date to a standard or custom report

  1. Click Reading in the upper-right corner of the open report to switch the report display to Design mode.
  2. Click the Edit button (Screenshot of WorldShare Reports Edit query button) in the Query tab. The Query Panel opens.
  3. From the Query Filters pane, locate the report object you want to apply a relative date and click the Show prompt properties button (Screenshot of WorldShare Reports Show prompt properties button). The Prompt Properties dialog opens.
  4. From the Prompt Properties dialog:
    1. Select the Parameter from universe radio button.
    2. Select a relative date from the universe parameter list. When you select a relative date, its definition appears below the list.
    3. Click OK.
  5. If the report object has a date range, repeat step 4 for the To date.
  6. Click Apply and Close.
  7. Save the report.
