Additional COUNTER 5 Report Available for Harvesting
With License Manager, we continue to build on the adoption of COUNTER 5 across libraries. Statistics gathered from COUNTER-compliant vendors help to inform your decision making as you select and maintain your library’s e-resources. To date, License Manager accepts all COUNTER 4 reports from 101 vendors and select COUNTER 5 reports for 135 vendors.
With this release, we are happy to announce License Manager offers both automatic and manual harvesting of one additional COUNTER 5 report type. The following report is now available for harvesting in addition to the TR, TR_J1, TR_J2, TR_J3, TR_J4, TR_B1, TR_B2, TR_B3, PR_P1, DR_D1, DR_D2:
IR_M1 - Multimedia Item Requests
Since COUNTER 5 is being deployed by many vendors, you may find it useful to visit COUNTER.org for a full description of the changes. License Manager will continue to update the list of COUNTER 5 supported vendor connections to ensure that your library has access to your usage statistics. In addition, if you have a COUNTER SUSHI vendor connection that you would like to see added to License Manager, you can utilize the ‘Request a Vendor’ feature.
- A bug previously affecting performance of the Harvest Summary feature has been fixed with this release. Users at your library should no longer encounter timeout issues when attempting to calculate usage totals for the 1 year maximum date range.
- The credential test for setting up a COUNTER 5 vendor is now displaying vendor responses more accurately. Previously, some incorrect credentials were appearing to be correct leading to report harvesting errors.
