Blocklist

Learn how to add patrons to the Blocklist and edit existing blocked patrons.

The Blocklist screen allows you to manually add patrons you want to block from being able to place reservations (e.g., a patron repeatedly places reservations and does not pick up the items). Patrons added to this list will be blocked regardless of their status in the ILS during authentication. To access the Blocklist screen from the Staff Console, click Blocklist.

  • By default, 50 blocked patrons are shown. Select a number from the Show entries drop-down list to change the number of blocked patrons you see per page.
  • Use the Search Blacklist text field to search by name, card number, or note.
  • You can sort blocked patrons by name, card number, or note.

Add a patron to the Blocklist

To add a patron to the Blocklist, from the Staff Console:

  1. Click Blocklist > Add.
  2. For the patron you want to block, enter their:
    • Name (last, first)
    • Card Number
    • (Optional) Any notes about what led to them being blocked.
  3. Click Add.

Edit a patron on the Blocklist

To edit a patron to the Blocklist, from the Staff Console:

  1. Click Blocklist.
  2. Click Edit for the patron for which you want to update information.
  3. Edit the relevant fields.
  4. Click Edit Blacklist.

Remove a patron from the Blocklist

To remove a patron to the Blocklist, from the Staff Console:

  1. Click Blocklist.
  2. Click Remove for the patron you want to remove from the Blocklist.
  3. Click Yes in the Remove Blacklist dialog. The patron is automatically removed from the Blocklist.
