Mark a custom field as recommended

You can mark a custom field as recommended to help ensure that staff fills it in before placing orders or changing the status of an invoice.

  • Recommended custom fields will be indicated by an exclamation mark symbol when editing order items
  • A warning message will display if a user tries to place an order or pay an invoice with recommended fields uncompleted
  • A custom field can be marked as recommended when it is created. See Create a custom field

To mark an existing custom field as recommended:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Custom Fields.
  2. Click the Field Name for the custom field you want to update.
  3. For Recommended Field, select the Yes radio button.
  4. Click Save.
