Enter date arrived

Discover how to enter the date arrived for a local resource and modify the date arrived for an item in WorldShare Acquisitions.

You can enter the date arrived for a local resource before receiving the item. This allows you to:

  • Track the amount of time between when an item arrives at your library and when it is added to your collection
  • Find the original Date Arrived for an item or items upon request by patron or staff requestor

Enter the date arrived for a local resource

 Note: If you want to make sure your staff do this for all monograph items, contact OCLC Support to have the Acquisitions setting turned on that will show the Date Arrived screen every time a monograph item is received.  This will appear immediately after the barcode is entered on the Receive and Invoice screen if configured in this way.

  1. From the left navigation, click Receive and Invoice.
  2. Select a processing type from the Processing Type drop-down list.
  3. Click View Items.
  4. Click the Search Text form field and then press <Enter>
  5. Click the gear button (Gear button) to display the Show Columns pop-up window.
  6. Select Date Arrived to add the Date Arrived column and then click anywhere out of the pop-up window to close it.
  7. Receive the item using the Barcode and Call Number fields.
  8. Once received, you will
    be presented with a dialog to enter the Date Arrived (see Note above).
    Or
    click Set Date in the Date Arrived column in the Items Processed in this session area at the bottom of the screen.
  9. From the Set Date Arrived dialog, enter the date arrived for the item.
     Note: You can enter the date arrived manually or by using the calendar button.
  10. Click Save. The Set Date link will be replaced with the date arrived you entered.

Modify the date arrived for an item

  1. From the left navigation, click Receive and Invoice.
  2. Select a processing type from the Processing Type drop-down list.
  3. Click View Items.
  4. Click the Search Text form field and then press <Enter>.
  5. Click the gear button (Gear button) to display the Show Columns pop-up window.
  6. Select Date Arrived to add the Date Arrived column and then click anywhere out of the pop-up window to close it.
  7. Click the Set Date in the Date Arrived column.
  8. From the Set Date Arrived dialog, update the date arrived for the item.
     Note: You can enter the date arrived manually or by using the calendar button.
  9. Click Save. The Set Date link will be replaced with the date arrived you entered.
