Change location log in

Discover how circulation staff can change their log in location.

OLIB Web users can change the location at which they are logged in. For example you must log in at the correct location of the library before any issues/returns are carried out.

When logged in to OLIB Web your current logged in Location is displayed at the top right of the screen next to your user name, e.g. Main library.

  1. Hover over the current location to display a list of alternative locations available to you. These are set as login locations for Circulation.
  2. Click on the Location you want to log in to. When OLIB has updated your location details, your preferred location is displayed at the top of the screen.
  3. Changing Location in this way saves you from having to log out first. This replicates the PC Location function in WorldView.

Setup

You can configure whether a particular user can change their logged in location. The possible locations that users can change to are also configurable.

User records

Whether a user can change the location he/she is logged into OLIB Web at, is determined by the Can Change Location flag in the OLIB Admin Settings section of the standard Users screen. If this is set to Yes, the user will be able to change the logged in location in OLIB Web. If it is set to No or if it is not set, the user will not be able to change the logged in location. The default value when creating a new user record in WorldView / OLIB Web is No.

Location records

The list of locations that the user can select from to change the logged in location to is determined by the Login Location? flag in the Locations domain. If this is set to Yes or if it is not set, the location will be included in the list of locations that the user can switch to during an OLIB Web session. If it is set to No, the location will not be included in the list of locations the user can switch to. The default value when creating a new location record is Yes.
