00 - 04 02217 The size of the record in bytes. Note that some characters (eg: ©, £) occupy more than one byte.
05 c Record Status. This imports to and exports from the Title's MARC Record Status field
06 a Type of Record. This imports to and exports from the Title's Record Type. It is also used to aid determination of the Media (Sub-)Type for the incoming title. If the value is not set on the Title during export, the value is retrieved from the Media (Sub-)Type.
07 m Bibliographic Level. This imports to and exports from the Title's BIB Level. It is also used to aid determination of the Media (Sub-)Type for the incoming title. If the value is not set on the Title during export, the value is retrieved from the Media (Sub-)Type.
08 c Type of Control.
09 a Character coding scheme. Conversion from MARC-8 will be handled automatically during import. Records will be exported using UTF-8.
10, 11 22 Indicator and Subfield code counts. These are set to "2" during export.
12-16 00421 Base address of Data. This advises the system reading the record where in the record the directory ands and the data starts.
17 K Encoding Level. This imports to and exports from the Title's MARC21 Encoding Level field. It can be used as part of the logic to determine whether or not a matching record during import should overwrite the existing record. For values of this position which relate specifically to WorldCat records, refer here
18 a Descriptive cataloging form. This imports to and exports from the Title's Descriptive Cat Form field.
19 # Multipart resource record level. This imports to and exports from the Title's Linked Record Req field. It is also used to aid determination of the Media (Sub-)Type for the incoming title. If the value is not set on the Title during export, the value is retrieved from the Media (Sub-)Type.
20-23 4500 Length of the length-of-field portion; Length of the starting-character-position portion; Length of the implementation-defined portion; Undefined.
These relate to the construction of the directory entries and are always "4500"
