Share an institutional stanza with other EZproxy configuration users

Learn how to share stanzas with other EZproxy configuration users using the EZproxy Configuration UI.

OCLC works hard to expand the number of sites EZproxy integrates with by developing stanzas. We work closely with vendors and our community to update and create new stanzas. The EZproxy community also encounters new sites and resources that OCLC may not have a stanza for currently. In the past, the listserv has acted as a forum for EZproxy users to share their own stanzas for those resources.

Hosted EZproxy institutions will have a new tool in the EZproxy configuration to share stanzas they have developed with the rest of the community.

Institutional stanzas can be shared with the public. Once shared, any future changes will be automatically updated on Hosted EZproxy servers that have applied the shared stanza to their instance.

To share an institutional stanza publicly in EZproxy configuration:

  1. Select Stanza Maintenance from the left navigation.
  2. Select the institutional stanza you wish to make public from the Institutional Stanzas drop-down menu.
  3. After verifying the stanza is correct, scroll to the bottom of the screen and click Make Institutional Stanza Public.

 Note:

  • Once an institutional stanza is made public, it cannot be reverted to a private institutional stanza.
    • You may mark a stanza as deprecated or obsolete.
    • Obsolete and deprecated can be superseded by a newer stanza.
      • When superseded, all Hosted EZproxy instances that have utilized the obsolete or deprecated stanza will receive the superseded stanza.
  • Before publishing the stanza for the public, be sure to remove any institution-specific information from the stanza.
