Upload files using FTP or Secure FTP commands

Use the FTP client and method of your choice. Click "Enter/Return" on your keyboard after each command.

FTP
  1. Enter the following command to access the server: ftp ftp2.oclc.org
  2. Enter your institution's assigned username
  3. Enter your assigned password
  4. Choose directory (see directory folders): Enter cd [directory name or path]
  5. Enter binary (prevents character set translation)
  6. Enter put [myfile] (copies file from your local system to OCLC's system)
  7. Enter quit
Secure FTP
  1. Using your institution's assigned username, enter the following command:   sftp [username]@scp.oclc.org
  2. Enter your institution's assigned password
  3. Choose directory (see directory folders): Enter cd [directory name or path]
  4. Enter put [myfile] (copies file from your local system to OCLC's system)
  5. Enter quit
Secure Copy
  1. Enter scp [myfile] [username]@scp.oclc.org:[directory name or path] (see directory folders)
  2. Enter the password when prompted
