You may use an open-source FTP client or LINUX command line to sFTP. If you need assistance with LINUX, please contact your OCLC Support office to receive SFTP credentials for your institution.
If you upload WorldCat data sync collection files frequently (i.e., more than once per hour), you should give your files unique names to prevent overwriting. After a file has been uploaded, it moves from the upload directory to processing. If you upload a second file with the same name before the first file has been moved to processing, it will overwrite your first file. This will result in only the second file processing. If you have any concerns about file delivery or receipt, please contact your Database Specialist via the Comments accordion.
Size and Format restrictions
OCLC currently accepts MARC 21 Bibliographic format, MARC 21 Holdings format, and non-MARC CSV data. There is no restriction on file size; however, internet connectivity and file size can impact how long it takes for a file to transfer.
