Find the fields, subfields, notes, and product availability for the Standard Number number (sn:) and number phrase (sn=) indexes.

This index is used to search for items by a specific ISBN, ISSN, LCCN, Universal Product Code, National Bibliographic Agency Control Number, International Standard Recording Code, International Standard Music Number, International Article Number, Serial Item and Contribution Identifier, Standard Technical Report Number, Publisher Number, CODEN, Source of Acquisition, Report Number or Other Standard Identifiers. You cannot search for the OCLC number with this index.

    • In FirstSearch and Collection Manager query collections, ISBN and ISSN numbers can be searched with hyphens.
  • When searching for LCCNs, the year at the beginning should be formatted so that years up to 1999 are searched as the last two digits of the year and years 2000 on are searched as four digits. The remaining numbers are searched as a six-digit number with leading zeros.
    • A number can have a prefix that is searched as connected to the number (e.g., ne64-2560 searches for ne64002560 and 64002560).
    • A number without a prefix searches for numbers with and without prefixes. To search for a number that has no prefix and only return those numbers, include a circumflex (^) before the number (e.g., ^64002560 returns 64002560).
  • Contains data from your local bibliographic data records in WorldShare and WorldCat Discovery.
