Why do I get a 500 error when using the Identity Management API?

A 500 error is a general shows up when no specific error can be identified. 

For example:  Receiving the 500 error during the initial setup of the WorldShare Identity Management API.  One reason could be that the accept type header is incorrect for the POST request. The accept header should be checked and corrected.
