Invalid Autho/password error when trying to connect to FirstSearch via Z39.50 in Endnote

Symptom

• You get a sign in error of "Message from remote server: Invalid Autho/password; Server has rejected initialization.  Probably bad password/user id." when trying to connect to FirstSearch using Z39.50 in Endnote

Resolution

Z39.50 access to FirstSearch requires login using an authorization number and password whether accessing it via Endnote or other Z39.50 servers. If you are a librarian you'll want to use your FirstSearch authorization number to connect. If not, please contact your university library staff to request access.
