Receive Push Notifications for Custom Library Created Alerts

Description

Your staff can now create and manage custom alert types through the Staff Dashboard and deliver to the app user's device as push notifications — either immediately or at a scheduled time. The full alert management workflow has been built out across the Dashboard, including an improved Create Alerts page, a dedicated Edit Alert page, and an updated Scheduled Alerts list. Alert delivery supports both individual library and consortia configurations, and notifications that include a URL will open the linked page directly in the app's built-in browser viewer on iOS and Android.

Benefits

• Your staff can define custom alert types and send targeted push notifications to all app users who have opted into those types, reaching patrons directly on their devices.
• Notifications can be sent immediately for time-sensitive messages or scheduled for a specific time, with batch processing ensuring reliable delivery at scale.
• Your consortium app users can view and subscribe to alert types from both the parent library and associated child libraries, providing a unified notification experience across the consortium.
• When a push notification includes a URL, tapping it takes users directly to the linked content within the app — no additional navigation required.
• Improved helper text, clearer field labels, and a delivery timing notice throughout the alert management pages help your staff understand the workflow and set accurate expectations; alert delivery to all opted-in users can take up to 30 minutes.
• Alert types that are currently associated with active scheduled alerts are protected from deletion, preventing accidental data loss.
• Your staff can assign multiple alert types to a single alert and receive immediate success or failure feedback when saving changes anywhere in the alert workflow.

Impact

• All existing scheduled alerts will automatically become push notifications and will be sent based on your schedule start date and time. 
• Editing a scheduled alert now opens a dedicated Edit Alert page instead of a modal dialog.
• The Scheduled Alerts list now includes an Alert Type column, renames Start to Send Date, and removes the End column and Pause action. Updated instructional text clarifies that alerts are automatically removed after their scheduled send time.
• An alert type cannot be deleted while it has active scheduled alerts associated with it. Staff must remove or complete those alerts before the alert type can be deleted.

Description

Libraries using the Wise integrated library system can now configure additional sort options for catalog search results within the app.

Benefits

• Your staff can offer patrons a richer search experience by enabling sort options, including Publication Date, Popularity, Author, Title, Series, and Relevance.
• Each sort option supports both ascending and descending order, giving patrons greater control over how search results are displayed.

Configuration

Sort options are configurable by staff through the dashboard. Enable or disable individual sort options and set the sort direction (ascending or descending) as appropriate for your library.

Patron Account Display on Launch (iOS)

Saved patron accounts now load reliably on the home screen when the app launches on iOS. Previously, accounts sometimes did not appear until the app was fully restarted.

Hold Pickup Location Availability (iOS)

Disabled hold pickup locations no longer appear as available options when patrons modify existing holds on iOS. Previously, disabled locations were incorrectly displayed as selectable options.

Top Navigation Text Color (iOS)

The configured top navigation text color now displays correctly on the Library Card and Manage Account screens for all libraries on iOS. Previously, some libraries saw the incorrect color applied on these screens.
