- Customers with multiple library cards can more intuitively switch between cards
Configuration
Self Checkout can be enabled in the Staff Dashboard. After logging in, navigate to Options>Account>Manage Account. For more information about customizing your Account screens, please see our Patron account options documentation.
By default, this feature will be disabled in the Staff Dashboard.

Accessibility MARC Fields — Item Details Display (008, 341, 532)
We've added support in the app to surface key accessibility MARC fields (008, 341, 532) in the item details view whenever those fields are present in metadata returned by an ILS or third‑party content provider (OverDrive, Hoopla). Field headers will only be shown when the corresponding field exists in the record.
Benefits
- Your users and staff will have improved accessibility readiness by exposing accessibility metadata.
- Reduces manual discovery of accessibility information in catalogs by showing fields in item details of the app.
- Supports both ILS-supplied fields and third‑party provider metadata (OverDrive, Hoopla) where available.
Impact
- Visible: For items whose metadata includes 008, 341, or 532, users will see those fields and their values in item details.
- Hidden: For items without those fields, the app will not show blank headers (so item details remain concise).
- Availability and label text may differ by ILS / provider
- The app displays only metadata that is returned by an ILS or provider API; OCLC does not generate missing MARC fields.
- Because some ILSes return hardcoded labels and others supply labels in metadata, label text is standardized across integrations.
ILS specific - Available holds prioritized at the top of the list
My Holds list is now ordered with "Available" holds at the top of the list instead of in a random order. Remaining holds follow below in their existing order.
Benefits
- Your patrons and staff can immediately identify items ready for pickup, reducing confusion and wait times.
- Prioritizing available holds surfaces the most actionable items, making the Holds view more useful at a glance.
Impact
- Impacted ILSs: Sierra, Symphony, and Evergreen
- Note: Polaris, Wise, and Koha were recently updated to reflect this change
- Your patrons will more easily find and retrieve items ready for pickup, likely decreasing missed pickups and follow-up inquiries.
- Library staff may see fewer support requests about where to find ready holds.
ILS specific - My Checkouts sorted by due date
My Checkouts list has been updated to sort items by their due date instead of the checkout date. Overdue items now appear at the top of the list, followed by items due soonest.
Benefit
Your users can quickly identify which items are overdue or due soon, helping them manage returns more effectively and avoid potential late fees.
Impact
- Impacted ILSs: Symphony
- Note: Wise, Polaris, Koha, and Evergreen were recently updated to reflect this change
- Enhances user experience by prioritizing time-sensitive information.
- Encourages timely returns and reduces overdue items.
- Streamlines checkout management for library patrons.
Staff Dashboard Special Characters Update
The Staff Dashboard now allows your staff to enter special characters such as @, hyphen (-), underscore (_), numbers, periods (.), and other punctuation in key configurable fields, including Pickup Location, Branch details, Email, Social Media Display Names, Library Services, Alerts, and various other screens.
Benefit
This flexibility improves data accuracy and user experience by supporting real-world naming conventions and contact information formats.
Impact
- Improved input validation on the Staff Dashboard prevents unnecessary input restrictions.
- Fields impacted include
- Pickup Location
- Branch Name
- Address lines
- Social Media Display Name
- Library and Service Display Names
- Event and Search Filter names
- Mobile Checkout usage text
- Carousel elements
- Alert Titles and Descriptions
- Help Text
- Note: other fields have previously been updated
Configuration
No new configuration changes are required to enable this update. However, if your library previously encountered issues entering special characters in these fields, you can now revisit and update those entries to include the desired punctuation and symbols without restriction.
Bug fixes
iOS Liquid Glass Rendering Fixes (Search Bar text visibility and Bottom Navigation color/shape)
Your iOS apps have been restored to their expected UI rendering and branding consistency. Correcting the issues introduced by the iOS “liquid glass” feature in latest iOS release:
- Text in the catalog search bar was invisible (white text on white background).
- Bottom navigation bar shape and color not aligning with the selected branding.
Benefits
- Users/staff will be able to:
- See and type in the catalog search bar without visibility issues.
- Experience consistent branding across the app’s bottom navigation.
- The app’s UI will reflect the intended design and accessibility standards on affected devices.
Impact
- Users visiting the catalog search will no longer encounter invisible text, improving search usability.
- The bottom navigation will display the correct shape and branding color, improving visual consistency.
- No changes required for most customers; changes apply automatically to affected iOS devices.
Staff Dashboard Updates and Fixes
This release includes several important fixes and improvements to the Staff Dashboard, addressing issues with custom screen button titles, reading history settings, and login accessibility.
Benefit
These updates enhance the reliability and usability of the Staff Dashboard by resolving key bugs that impacted button configuration, feature enablement, and user access, thereby improving staff workflow and system stability.
Impact
- Custom Screen Button Titles: Fixed an issue preventing custom screen buttons from saving if the button title contained an apostrophe ('). This fix applies across supported browsers, allowing for more flexible and accurate button naming.
- Reading History Enablement: Resolved a problem where enabling the reading history feature in the Manage Account module would not persist after saving and logging back in. Reading history now remains enabled as expected and appears correctly in the app.
- Dashboard Login: Addressed login issues that prevented users from accessing the Staff Dashboard, restoring normal login functionality.
Configuration Changes
No configuration changes are required. Users affected by previous issues can now resume normal operations without additional setup.
